Expressing the sprit of Japanese hospitality, aesthetic and customs, events uniquely representing Kyoto were held in temples and shrines, combining cherished and ancient culture with the ways of today in a bold and spectacular manner. It is our challenge to develop and pass down Japanese culture through a new attempt only Kyoto with a history of well over a thousand years enables. This event began in 1994, the 1,200th anniversary of the Heian Kento. We had 20 times Nippon to Asobo, it came to an end in 2013.

Byodoin Temple

Gokuraku Rikyu reflected on the water's surface

Japan and Hong Kong a country and a city both protected by the sea; and Byodoin Temple, which lies beside the waters of the Uji River. Byodoin Temple has been a place where wishes for the happiness of those living in this world were made. Our 16th "Nippon to Asobo" event at Byodoin Temple offered the opportunity to experience these wishes, and history of all those that have stood by its surrounding waters.

Kamigamo Shrine

Koyoi Meguri A-FU-HI

In Japan, "Aoi (holly hock)" has been said to be a symbol of "En (relationship)" for ages. The Kamigamo Shrine, whose shrine crest is a Futaba Aoi (double leafed Aoi), has watched over numerous "En" s for years. The collaboration of traditional and innovative performance of percussion, guitar, opera, and didgeridoo realized a spectacular stage of timeless and borderless music.

Ninnaji Temple

Hito wo musubishi Wa no takara

Ninnaji was successfully rebuilt after the Edo priod begun, despite being nearly consumed by fire due to the Onin War. Nippon to Asobo was held on the theme of Japan's Treasure are the people's strong power and wish, was expressed Japanese soul and treasure by the sound of flute, koto and Japanese drum.

Nishi-Hongwanji Temple

Chiyo ni mau ryu

"NISHI HONGWANJI TEMPLE", one of the world cultural heritage in Japan inspired Chinese and Western cultures. Performances of blending different cultures were performed at NISHI HONGWANJI TEMPLE in Japan, the end of the silk Road.

Cui Junzhi (konghou), Hidano Shuichi (Japanese drum), Mickie Yoshino (synthesizer), Steve Fox (bass Guitar), Wu Na (guqin).

GION KOBU KABURENJO

Han nari Kassai no Hanamichi

The last feast at the Gion Kobu Kaburenjo Theater representing Kyoto, Japan. Our concept is to learn and experience Japanese culture. Bringing it to crowing glory, we offered Japanese hospitality to our every guest with the greatest ways.

The Royal Ballet of Cambodia, Hajime Mizoguchi (Cello), Gayo Nakagaki (20-string koto), Erika Matsuo (Violin), Goto Yashiki (Drums), Keiji Matsumoto (Keyboard), Takafumi Kawashima (Saxophone), Kaori Takeda (TICA/Vocal), Masayuki Ishii (TICA / Guitar), Ray Ohara (Bass), Erika Horiki (Washi art), Gion Geiko (Teuchi).
